(solved) How to Turn on/off system restore in Windows XP

Sometimes we need to turn on or turn off system restore for removing viruses, for this reason we need to turn off. There are more viruses Trojans, worms that are unable to remove because they can restore it in the system, and we need to turn off the system. For this you need to follow the steps.

1. Steps to Turn off System Restore

1. Right click on my Computer and select properties

2. In the pop up box (System Properties ) click the System Restore Tab

3. Click to select to turn off system restore on all drives. check box.

4. Once it is done click ok.

Then you will receive a confirm message saying to click yes in order to turn off System Restore

If you selected to move forward all existing system Restore points will be get deleted and therefore you must think before turning off the System Restore.

Once you confirmed, the system Restore dialog box closes after a few minutes.

2. Steps to Turn on system Restore when it was turned off.

1. Right click on my Computer and select properties

2. In the pop up box (system properties ) click the system Restore Tab.

3. Uncheck the Turn off system Restore Check box

4. Click ok

After few seconds or minutes, the system restore dialog box closes.
